The Weekly Digest #1

Hi Hi,

I was having a very busy week this week and went for a some beautiful autumnal walks and had a think about the ethos of “niamhgordon.uk” (sneaky ego booster typing out my official site name now lol)

& it made me think… I started this entire blog to mind dump all my travels and favourite things when I’m not adventuring! I think I got a bit caught up in having the ‘trendy’ or ‘clickbait’ style blogs for short few weeks and it gave me a complete mental block. Hence no posts for the entirety of October.

In saying that, I’m BACK!!! I have journaled, set some personal goals and got my mind back on the straight and narrow… which brings me to:

The Weekly Digest #1

Basically this is where I literally debrief my week, the good, bad and ugly… some may feel its too personalif you are said person feel free to leave…

Monday:

Monday blues are real today… on my eighth day working and I am so glad to be in my bed writing this. Don’t get me wrong I love running the gym and seeing my girls, I just mean I’m physically exhausted (having chronic fatigue since June defs doesn’t help the matters, but we move and have gratitude for having an able body which is recovering). However, on a positive note I posted the Ultimate Gift Guide & so far have had an amazing response over the last hour!!! Feeling proud of the gift guide because it took a lot of time and editing to get all the facts straight and add links to all the websites! Have a good vibe since publishing it.

Tuesday:

Brick wall has been hit (lol what a fun introduction to the weekly digest the first 2 days are talking about fatigue… how fun). Went to work this morning 7-9am for the morning clients in the gym, came home and napped hardddd. One of those naps where you don’t even set an alarm and just let your body recoup. Delightful. After a solid 4 hour nap (at what point does a nap become a sleep? I’m not sure, you decide haha), I felt fresh and went for the most beautiful autumn walk in the Country Park in Limavady. This is my go to walk atm but I opted to go for no AirPods this time and just let my mind have a second to breath. Of course grabbed a dreamy Al’s coffee (deets about my fav coffee shops *here*). Got back into the car, stuck on the hilarious Tony and Ryan podcast and had a good belly laugh on the way home! Self care acquired.

Wednesday:

Feeling FRESH! I defs have what feels to be my soul back after basically letting my bodies battery run to 5% the last two days. I had a super busy, but very fulfilling day today. Started the day off to Antrim to drop off gym equipment, then had a scoot to Asda because are you really in Antrim if you don’t go to the hugeee Asda (lol take a shot every time I mention Asda). Got a handful of bits and bobs for the Christmas Hamper Appeal we do in the gym every year to help out local families! Then we (I forgot to mention the lil poochy Oscar came with me for the craic) headed over to the Castle Gardens and Dog Park to burn off the stunningly festive Starbucks Caramel Waffle Latte (if you don’t know get to know) & Oscar for his puppachino. Again the leaves falling, sun shining, crisp air and lightly mucky paths just makes me feel so GOOD! I really do love this autumn/winter time of the year. Back in the car for a successful gym restock in Musgrave marketplace, to head all the way back home again for work in the evening. I’m now sat in my new Primark jersey Christmas jammies, surrounded by not one but two Dunelm Teddy blankets and finishing writing this feeling very grateful and warm inside after today. G’night xx

Thursday:

Good morning busting head… what a week and its only Thursday lol. Slowed my morning wayyyy down because I didn’t want to be another write off & it worked. Made a tasty chicken and sweetcorn pizza wrap (my fav) & done a light ab workout and all my physio work and felt amazing after! Then we moved onto the weekly Tanning Thursday ritual… if you feel like poop, I can guarantee doing a tan routine will make you feel at least 10% better about yourself. Lathered myself in the maintain it moisturiser and you guessed it… using my absolute favourite bBold Super Serum (NIAMHGFIT for 10% off of course ;)). Took a little trip to Tescos to buy some bits for the Christmas Hamper Appeal from yesterdays money donations and successfully fulfilled two more hampers for £10!!! Is that not INCREDIBLE? I’m writing this at a different time of the day (16:17 to be exact) because I decided to stop in for a festive Bob and Bert’s Peppermint Mocha while I was down this far! Can confirm it tastes like Christmas and I will in fact be returning for another! They have their Christmas tree lit, classic Christmas tunes playing and definitely a Christmas scent flowing in the air. Blissful. It’s making me want to go home & make a start on our Christmas decorations, but that will entirely depend on how well I can persuade father dearest lol.

Friday:

Update: Christmas decorations were not taken downsad girl vibes. Swiftly moving on, it’s the weekend !!! I finished work at 9am, closed up the gym & made myself a classic breakfast: egg in a cup. 10/10, you won’t tell me any different. Had a few work emails/ messages that needed sorting before the weekend, got them done and dusted & had a lil nappy nap lol. Promise it was only a nap this time… 45 mins is a nap, right ? Of course Oscar and myself went for our usual walk in the country park. I refrained from having a coffee today because we had our walk a little later than usual & I chose sleep tonight, over a yummy coffee. How sad yet relatable?Once we came home there wasn’t too much more that happened other than cosying up on the sofa with Jordan, fire on and watching I’m a celeb. Anyone else finding it really hard to get into it this year? Or maybe I’m just getting older and less interested reality tv? Who know’s!

Saturday:

What at day!!! I had some positive feedback from the consultant this morning about an important appointment I have been waiting months for. I feel a lot more confident and excited for the future after talking to him today! In celebration of course me and Oscar just had to go out for some brekkie in my favourite place in the North Coast; Awaken in Portstewart. They have the most dreamy banana bread toast, which is served up with Greek yogurt, honey, pureed strawberries and all the yummy seeds! Of this had to be paired with an oat milk latte with caramel syrup. Classic. Belly was filled, caffeine was consumed and ready for a blissful walk along the East Strand in Portrush. It’s strangely mild today… the weather that is. I had brought a big coat and scarf but ended up wearing my usual Gymshark body warmer because it wasn’t cold enough to get happed up. Walked up the beach, let Oscar off the lead and have a play with the ball and listened to the Harmonious Spotify playlist to feel some Disney magic (if you enjoy musical music in any kind of way/ grew up loving Disney, this will make you feel so nostalgic)! This is the kind of self care day I needed after a long 12 day working streak. Here’s to two days off!

& that’s a wrap on the first weekly digest! Hope it wasn’t too boring and if you made it this far then thank you for reading along. But as I say I’m leaning more into the reason why I started the blog & that was, it’s an outlet for me!

Let me know something that went well for you this week!
