Hiii,
It goes without saying I love travelling. Over the last 5 years I’ve been adding places to my notes on my phone of places I want to visit! I’ve ticked off a few and we’re only getting started! The big goal would be to see each of the 7 continents at some stage in my life, we’ll just see how many I get to tick off.
Asia
Our plans for Bali this week have been put on hold. We didn’t realise you needed a visa so we didn’t book. Then we realised you get your visa on arrival… we have now booked and confirmed it for June 2nd!!! Bali is in Indonesia which is in Asia and will be ticking off my 3/7 continent travelled to. I’ve spoke about our plans for exploring Ubud in a previous blog that’ll I’ll link here if your interested. A few other places I’d love to explore in Asia: Maldives, Thailand and Japan. Think the Maldives are pretty self explanatory… the islands are beyond beautiful and for me I would love to there for a relaxing holiday rather than to travel. Thailand is high up on the list for travelling and exploring! I’ve looked into a few tours which take you from Bangkok to Phuket and they all look incredible. Soaking up the sun on the most tranquil beaches. Engulfing ourselves in the cultural foods of locals. Exploring and taking in the beauty of cultural temples and archaeological sites. Everything about it excites me. Lastly Japan, specifically Tokyo. I feel like I want to go here and experience the culture at least once. That hustle and bustle culture. The high speed trains. Disneyland of course would be on the list. Seeing the cherry blossom trees in spring with the beautiful landscape in the background. It all sounds amazing to me!
Europe
Obviously I’ve lived in Europe for 21 years of my life and had a few holidays throughout the years. I’ve seen 13/32 county’s in Ireland, visited Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Blackpool, London and Brighton in the UK. Enjoyed my sisters wedding in Rome. Had a quick holiday to Salou and Barcelona in Spain and that’s all my European travels. I have a lot more on my bucket list: Lake District, Greece, France, Italy and Germany. The Lake District is somewhere my Granny and Granda spent a lot of their time visiting. They have done a lot of travelling but here and Italy always seemed to be their go to’s. I want to experience their love for it myself, especially when you grow up hearing about how beautiful the lakes are, how green the mountains are and how lovely the people are! Greece on the other hand is somewhere I’ve always admired pictures of. That blue and white, coastal, calming vibe is a bit of me. Really anywhere with water I’m at home. I think specifically Santorini, because it’s the home of longest coastline in Europe and I would die to explore those little white bricked villages on the hills. It literally feels like a paradise in my head. France holds a bittersweet place on my bucket list because I have meant to be in Paris 3 times and all 3 have been cancelled. First time with the school it was cancelled because of terrorist attacks in 2016. Then in 2020 covid hit. Just to top it all off EasyJet went on strike in 2022 putting and end to that trip too. I would still love to go and finally get to soak up the beautiful site seeing, fall back into the magic in Disneyland Paris and even take a walk through all the beautiful shopping experiences Paris. It’s on the maybe list for 2023… I’m not getting hopes up though lol. Italy has my heart. Italian food is my favourite. Supposedly the worlds best coffee. Need I say more? I hope to go to Italy and solely go for a weekend of eating, drinking and indulging in the simple lifestyle they follow. Genuinely I would love nothing more than to eat out twice a day, lounge about reading my book or blogging in a beautiful coffee shop and spending my evening having an ice cream and bev by the coast. Blissful. Lastly on the Europe bucket list I have Germany. Berlin specifically because I work with someone who lived there for 18 years and has showed me the most amazing photos of it. I didn’t realise how beautiful Berlin was. I suppose it just wasn’t somewhere I thought of for a city break before. Now I can’t wait to visit all the museums learn about their history and culture!
Australia
Obviously with the benefit of living in Western Australia at the minute, I have the opportunity to travel throughout Australia. The goal for us is to visit each state before we leave to come home for good! Cairns which is in Queensland is next on our list. The obvious things to see here is the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest and that is exactly what we want to see and explore! We’re hoping to go in July with all being well. Sydney is also high up on the list, we want to take a cruise down the iconic Sydney harbour and see the Sydney Opera House. Also a day trip of the blue mountains. If you haven’t seen this, please look it up! I cannot wait to see it for my own eyes! Sydney is in New South Wales which will tick off another state for us. Onto Melbourne, Victoria. We really wanted to go here earlier in the year to see the F1 buzz, but work had other plans… On a positive note, we still want to go and rent a car. Take a long drive and have a picnic along the Great Ocean Road. Beautiful cliffs. Ocean view. What more could you want. Moving on down the country to South Australia home of Adelaide and also home to Kangaroo Island. Jumping onto a ferry for the day, sightseeing, seal spotting, exploring the National Park and all the furry friends in it! I feel like this would a nice weekend break. Lastly taking us to all the states Tasmania. This was a really difficult one for us to research because it’s not a popular holiday spot? However, I found a beautiful 7 day highlight tour which guides you around all the best bits of Tasmania! It’s an extremely aesthetic place. Clear dark blue water. Sandy outbacks. Beautiful tall mountains. Honestly have a look at it if you’ve never thought of going there before!
That concludes part one of my travel bucket list! Again to preface these are all goals! I’ve always loved travelling and as an adult I’m now in a position where I can travel. I love researching places. I love finding good deals. I love writing about it. It’s invigorating!
