Hiii,
I hadn’t planned on writing this blog, I actually had intended on writing my travel bucket list… but the response to the ‘Long Haul Travel Tips’ blog went so well and I had a few questions about the packing part! I will do a full designated blog on how I packed my big case but I also have a video to edit for that one, for now it’s in the back burner & I’ll chat through some of the my travel essentials!
Kitsch:
If you follow my instagram you will have seen my recently post an offer from their amazon storefront (it is an incredible offer btw I’ll link it here). I was introduced to this brand by one of my best friends, for Christmas I had asked my friends to not buy presents I wouldn’t be able to bring to Australia with me. Hannah understood the assignment… she bought me the 3 piece travel pouch set from Kitsch. I’ll be honest I hadn’t heard of the brand until then. Ive tried and tested them, I am confident that they are leakproof. If you read my skincare routine you’d have seen I actually use the pouches on a daily basis, so truly I have tested them out on two flights and 5 weeks of day to day use. They are amazing! Plus they are BPA free (which for my gals this is more important than you realise *read here*), they meet the TSA guidelines so you can bring them in your carry-on bag and they look pretty, exactly what I love to hear.

Refillable Mini Perfume Bottle:
Sounds very random, but if you’re like me and packing your life up into 30kg, your 100ml bottles of perfume is going to weigh your bag down. For me, I decided to pump as much as possible into these refillable mini perfume bottles I got on amazon & give the remainder to friends/family, because waste not want not. You probably thinking ‘wise up it’s only 100ml’, honestly its not to liquid that is the issue its the beautiful big bottles that they come in… they weigh more than you think. Plus it gives you an excuse to treat yourself at duty free for a new scent to remember that trip!
Airfly:
You’re probably sick of hearing me chat about Airfly but genuinely it’s game changer! It’s an adapter for the airplane entertainment, that allows you to connect your wireless earphones to the TV. It’s so simply but made a huge difference to my experience! Flying for long haul trips, you want to keep your battery on your phone high and use earphone that are comfortable rather than the hard airline ones. Using the TV on the plane instead of your phone will make a huge difference to your battery! I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned previously that it links up to 2 wireless earphones per use, which means you and your travel buddy can watch the film at the same time & both have the luxury of using your own earphones! LOVE IT!!!

Document Pouch:
I can’t stress this one enough! The sheer delicacy of not having to panic look for all your documents when asked for them. Again, another one of my best friends understood the Christmas present assignment when Caoimhe gave me and Jordan our document pouch! It’s amazing isn’t it? Customised, washable and the perfect size! I’m not sure where this came from but I’ve linked a similar one from Etsy. Even Jordan has passed this tip on to one of his friends starting their travels. Genuinely invest in one that’s big enough for your passports, A4 pages to be folded once, boarding passes and any other documents you’re given along the way!

Insulated Water Bottle:
This is a weird one. When travelling through Dubai airport you’re not allowed to bring a drink on the plane with you, even if you bought it there. When we were flying our 10 hour flight from Dubai to Perth the half glass of water every 2 hours doesn’t cut it for staying hydrated. However, if you’re flying with emirates you can go to the back of the plane and fill your water bottle with water! If your not doing the same route as me that’s okay, still bring yourself an insulated water bottle because most airports water refill stations dotted around the terminals & because its an insulated bottle, it will keep your water cool on the flight! Plus it’s so handy to have when you arrive at your destination, especially if it’s a warm country! Simply but essential.

These are my top 5 travel essentials, I definitely have more travel gadgets that I love but I wouldn’t categorise them as essential, more like nice to have. Again, I will have a blog coming soon showing all my tips and tricks to packing checked in luggage, because I will admit I am very proud of how much I was able to bring in one case. Jordan was amazed too lol.
I hope you adopt even one of these essentials to elevate your travel experience & if you do please tag me on instagram so we can have a chat!
