Friday Reset | Starting work | IKEA | Goal setting

Hiii,

Good news… WE GOT JOBS!!! We landed fly in fly out (fifo) jobs, where we both have the same work schedule, location and job! I am beyond excited to try it out and see what it’s like living in another part of Australia. Just to clarify we aren’t leaving Perth permanently, we fly an hour out of Perth stay there for 3 weeks for work and get to have a week off to enjoy being back in Perth! A blog will definitely be coming to document FIFO life and my first impressions of it.

That was completely off topic but kinda sets the tone of why I’m having a Friday reset! We will be working away for 3 weeks at a time so as you can imagine there’s a little bit of prep needing done…

Food shop:

It’s strange over here because going for dinner is actually really cheap, most places do steak nights at $20 which at the minute is like £12… I know. When I’m making the shopping list I try to allow for eating out twice per week to avoid wasting any food! We decided on steak, mash and veggies for 1 night and cheesy bacon & sweetcorn jacket potatoes for another 2 dinners. Nothing gourmet of course lol. We do our shopping in Coles… I love this place. It literally feels like a shop in American films! We ended up going to Target and Kmart after Coles because we needed some bits for travelling. I needed more travel bottles, shampoo & conditioner and work socks (how stunning lol). I got all of the above and was good… meaning I didn’t buy anything else other than what I needed!

IKEA:

It was a fairly gloomy day today, dark cloud, some light rain here and there and a breeze… not complaining just setting the scene. On dull and gloomy days, where is the best place to go to pick up your mood? IKEA! Obviously. We dropped our shopping off and made our way to Ikea which is only a short 20 minutes from our house. I don’t know what it is but I just loveee envisioning all these rooms in a my dream house, like omg of course I want a partition wall behind my bed frame so I can have my own Hannah Montana dressing room behind it!? Watch this space lol. I tried to convince Jordan to have our dinner in IKEA because their mash and gravy is elite but didn’t quite get him swayed… maybe next time. I actually had intentions of buying them flatpack fabric storage boxes for our wardrobe because I can’t deal with everything getting mixed up all the time. Grateful I have a wardrobe! It just needed some organisation. I ended up leaving them at the checkout and swapped them for drop storage that hangs from the wardrobe rail! Efficient I love it. As you can imagine when checked out and went home & I got stuck into my wardrobe organisation at 9pm. Two hours later and this was our finished product. Buzzing.

Goal setting:

I feel like I talk about this a lot on my blog, but it genuinely is such a big part of my life. I worked at as a personal trainer for 4 years at home and during them 4 years I spent 3 years studying sports, physical activity and health at uni. Both areas of my life at that time reinforced the importance of goal setting and planing ahead. Psychology proves it and I trust it. Basically what I’m saying is, I was worried that two blogs per week might not happen when I move to this job. I don’t know why I was worried because I write these for myself? I’m always buzzing when people read these and text me about them, but I never expect it? Essentially I sat down and made a day plan of how I can manage to meet all my personal goals while I’m in another new environment. It was so refreshing. Now I’m excited to go away for work and equally excited about hitting my targets like: 10k steps, 2 blogs per week, 7 hours sleep, 5 minute journal everyday. Exciting times.

All in all, it was a fabulous Friday.
