Walt Disney World Florida- How Much Does it Really Cost?

I recently seen Walt Disney World posting an offer which I will tag “here” & it sparked my curiosity to see if the deal was really a deal or not…

So here is my piece by piece cost breakdown of how much our two week holiday to Orlando cost us June past!

(By no means did we do things the cheapest or the most extravagant, however it fitted our budget & we were both very happy with how we spent our money!)

CostWhere/What we Booked?
Flights£868Skyscanner– British Airways & Aerlingus (including booking fee & flight tax)
Hotel£936Booking.com– Avanti International Resort (including Florida daily tax, booking fees and hotel tax)
Parks£1472Attraction Tickets– 14 day Disney & Universal Ticket
Travel£661Lyft– Use this link for a free Lyft in Orlando
Food£789In the parks & International Drive
Total Spend for 2 Adults- £4726

Now let’s take a look at the comparison to Disney’s offer!

Before diving into the breakdown of the offer I’d just like to add these are based off the exact same dates as we travelled this year, to make it a fair comparison of prices. There are cheaper dates to go in the year!!!

Few key differences with the bookings:

Flights: We flew from Dublin- London- Orlando & the same on the way home with Aerlingus and British Airways. These flights are Belfast- London- Orlando. This in itself saves extra money from driving less, probably no airport parking and no toll bridge fees.

Orlando International Airport

Hotel: As we stayed on International Drive we had to factor in the cost of transport to and from the parks. I mentioned in my last Disney blog, technically we had free buses from the hotel however the times didn’t work for us, so this is a cost we allowed for! Whereas staying at Disney’s All Star Sports, will give you FREE running buses ALL day to ALL Disney parks. The convenience of this is something we will definitely pay for next time!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Park Ticket: We factored in the cost of both Universal parks: Studios & Island of Adventure. If you love Harry Potter or thrill rollercoasters, you can’t pass up these parks because this was the highlight of them! Disney’s offer obviously DOES NOT include Universal Studios. However, you can buy this separate on Attraction Tickets for £313! This is the cost for 2 adults btw!

Memory Maker- included in offer

Travel: I briefly mentioned above about using alternative transport for getting to and from the parks, we solely used Lyft and LOVED IT!!! Very safe and reliable, it was also the most affordable choice of taxi! However, along with the convenience of staying on Disney property, you don’t have to allow for as much money on external transport as it’s ALL FREE within Disney property. This includes all 4 parks, 2 water parks and Disney Springs where we spent a lot of our evenings!

Food: We paid for all our food when we were there, we ate our fair share both in and outside the parks! This offer includes $504 dollars of Dining Credit in the parks, $100 gift card for merchandise & many more freebies which you can see below!

All these things considered… have a look at the price difference

SAVING £122 !!! This may not sound like a big difference but here’s why I would avail of this offer even if it was more expensive:

  1. Convenience!!! When it’s 38°C & your sweaty, tired and want a shower and nap… you are a short bus journey from your hotel at no additional cost. Trust me on this one, this is a god send!
  2. Pre Paying!!! This offer allows you to pre pay the cost of the holiday 3 months before going, this is unreal because it gives you the chance to build up your spending money for shopping out there before you go, knowing you have your essentials paid for before you even arrive!

This offer is ENDS IN 7 DAYS!!! September 29th is your final date to secure your price with a deposit!

Again there are dates which are cheaper throughout the year, in my opinion we wouldn’t go in June again. We would opt for April, September or November, for a few different reasons including cooler weather, less crowds and cheaper!

Let me know in the comments if you have your Disney holiday booked or if you are planning one!
