Disney World- 3 Things to Make the Most of YOUR Trip.

Hi Hi,

I cannot believe that come tomorrow we will be home 6 weeks from Disney.

Regardless of how sad I am about that, it still brings me so much joy looking back at all our pictures and getting that boost of Disney serotonin!

With that said here’s 3 Things YOU should consider before booking Disney World, Florida:

Polynesian Village Resort- Walt Disney World
  • HOTEL LOCATION

We stayed in the Avanti International Resort on iDrive (10/10 recommend the location of this hotel), Universal was 20/30 minutes on the FREE transport provided by the hotel and only 10 minutes with Lyft. Generally all Disney parks were 30 minute Lyft drive away, I’m not sure how long the free transport was from the hotel as we never availed amenity simply because the times didn’t happen to suit or preferences. Having said this myself and Jordan spent a few days exploring the Disney Resorts and trying to work out if it is worth while staying on site. The transportation between all the parks is FREE and very EASY to use! We used all modes of transport including the monorail, ferry boats, buses and Skyliners (our personal favourite). While we were not staying on Disney property, we were still able to make use of these services for FREE with your park ticket. We definitely want to go back to Disney World Florida and with the right promotion/deal I think we are inclined to stay on site, for the sheer convenience of being able to closer to the parks.

Ferry Boat- TTC to Magic Kingdom

  • EARLY MORNINGS, LATE NIGHTS

The magic starts early in Disney World and ends late at night! If this doesn’t sound like a holiday to you, this is definitely a big factor to consider before booking. The typical day for us: Leaving hotel for 8/9am. Get as much done in the park as possible for 1pm. Grab Lunch. Try to do some more attractions or make our way back to the hotel to hide from the afternoon heat (we went in June so this may not be an issue for you!). Back out to the parks for 6pm to get on a few walk on attractions, grab snacks and get a spot for the fireworks.

Magic Kingdom- Enchantment Firework Spectacular

Fireworks in Magic Kingdom start at 9:20pm and Epcot 9pm. These are both MUST DO’s in my opinion. I honestly cannot describe the nostalgic feeling that rushes through my body when the music plays, fireworks start, lightship is in action and to top it all off the atmosphere from the rest of the crowd! You simply can’t go to Disney World and not experience this. In fact its been the one thing I’ve thought about and missed most since coming home! As I was saying though about late nights, if you’re staying on iDrive we were getting back to the hotel from these around 11pm most nights. It was worth every single second for us, however if you’re not good with late nights or early rises its definitely something to consider when booking!

(On a total side note: If you want to get a feel for the magic from the comfort of your home, Disney+ has an entire show of Epcots Harmonious)

  • BRING A BAG

Before we went on holidays we watched Brogan Tate, The Lodge Guys and Brianna Tata Disney vlogs! Asides from building up the excitement of going to Orlando, they also helped massively with tips on what to bring to the parks! Each day we took a bag each for separate things. Jordan used a backpack to carry our water bottles, suncream, deodorant, portable chargers/leads and neck fans. Whilst in my bumbag I carried our park tickets, ID, camera and cash. This was the best combo for us!

Coca Cola in Batuu- Hollywood Studios

If there’s 2 things I recommend in terms of a park bag is 1. Keep your tickets & cash in a clear pouch. This made our life so easy, we could see we hadn’t forgotten anything in the mornings, but most importantly it also kept them dry from rides and rain. 2. Bring your own water, I nearly dropped when we bought our first bottle of water in the parks. It was $5 for a 500ml bottle… we’ll not talk about it lol.

(Finishing on a bright note: Look how cute the wee coke bottles that were in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! These were in fact worth the money as they doubled up as a cool sentiment to bring home too).

I absolutely have so many more tips and tricks that we gathered on our June 2022 trip & don’t worry I’ll be back soon to pester you with more very soon! In the mean time if you’d like to see some clips of our trip you can have a nosey here

Let me know in the comments if this has helped you make up your mind on booking your trip to Disney yet?!
